FAQ
What is digital asset tagging?
Digital asset tagging is the process of adding metadata, such as keywords, custom metadata fields, and other information, to digital assets (images, videos, and documents). This information helps to organize and categorize the assets, making them easier to find and use with DAM’s advanced search that lets you help find assets by their descriptors, not just the precise file name.
Why is metadata important for organizing digital content?
Metadata is important for organizing digital content because it allows you to easily search and find specific assets faster. For example, if you wanted to find all pictures of cats, you wouldn’t need to remember the file name of each photo. You could just type something like cat in your DAM and find all assets that fit the criteria at once! You can further combine it with other tags (like the fur color, maybe) to narrow down the search further.
What is asset metadata?
Asset metadata is the data that describes and identifies a digital asset. It includes information such as the asset's filename, metadata fields, geolocation, Keywords, etc. This information is used to improve the discoverability, organization, and tracking of assets in a digital asset management system.
